UNHBC existing Unit Substations are nearing their end life cycle requiring replacement. T-1 and T-2 oil filled transformers are to be replaced and upgraded with two 2.667MVA dry type. The facility will also require replacement of the original 12.5 KV Medium Voltage Switch Gear nearing it’s expected end of life cycle. Parallel 3000A cable bus will feed the upgraded 3000A MDC-1 including tie breaker. Powerhouse Electrical Rm. No. 6 will be refed with a new 12.5KV feeder. The upgrade will also include a new Information Metering System for the entire main MDC-1 and MV SWGR Line up allowing the facility to monitor the power and quality more accurately within the existing EMCS
Fun Fact:
FPEI designed in house doors within the interior and exterior to allow equipment to be installed and replaced more easily in the future. This included coring, cutting, and engineering structural reinforced openings into the buildings existing concrete and block walls.
Hello Derek,
Please review attachment. Note the DT1, DT2…… Readings are Delta Temperatures to show the relation between different points. I don’t see anything concerning , quite the opposite everything looks great and is almost sitting at ambient temperatures.
Your team has done a great job!!
Thanks You,

Certainly one of the most complicated projects I've been involved in and also a lot of fun bouncing ideas and walking through the construction process as a team with common goals.
I can't imagine having any success trying to deliver a project like this under the old "Engineer vs Contractor" way of doing things!!!
